"Forgotten Swinget" - What type of BLOG will it be?

I like reflections.  Those grand events that make life so rewarding, so full.  The times that make your heart swell with great joy! As each second of our life passes by, a new memory is stored away in our personal memory banks. We always remember those BIG events, birthdays, holidays and more. The little things become squashed to the bottom of the pile. When our memoriess are rekindled, the smallest events can be recalled in great detail, you can literally close your eyes and see the whole thing so vividly, your mind just goes on auto-pilot.  "Forgotten Swingset" is my way of sharing those life's moments that have filled my years as far back as my earliest memory at about 3 years old. We all have many "Forgotten Swingsets" in our lives, the things that filled our days in 1st grade are much different then the things that fill our days as we prepare to graduate from high school, go off to college or build a family. The tales that will fill my BLOG are "MY" "Forgotten Swingsets". I hope you find the interest to come by and visit my BLOG on occasion? I will write, will you read? I would appreciate your "posts". As they grow?

It was so important in 1999. We had just moved into our new home, Blake was 5 and Kennedy had just turned 1. We didn't have a swingset at the old house and one of the top priorties was building the kids a grand swingset that they could spend hours on playing the day away. I remember shopping at stores to see what type of configurations there were, which bells and whistles did I want my kids to have? A straight slide or a curved one? A fort to rule the world from and how many swings? I spent hours planning that swingset for Blake and Kennedy. I remember going to get all the materials to build my masterpiece. The final plan called for 2 slides, 1 straight and 1 curved! The fort would be high in the air close to 6ft with a 5 foot square platform. three swings and 1 monkey bar. Not only was it the perfect swingset for our kids, it was a one of a kind designed from my head. It was a struggle to build the swingset because there were no plans. I built it from my head and my heart. I will never forget the 1st time the kids went down the slides n 1999 and then climbed way up to the fort. There was a curved slide there for quick escape or a wrope swing so the kids could feel the like they were flying through the air. Their swingset was absolutely perfect. Mom and I spent  hours watching the kids play, hours hearing their laughs and watching smiles cross their faces a zillion times. The perfect swingset was the perfect place to spend time as a family. Over the years the swingset became a gathering place for the kids and their friends. Their swingset was on the BIG side and could host many with it's fort, it's 3 swings and it's 2 slides. Many of the kids loved the rope swing, they would launch from the fort, swing through the air, "Wee!" The fun times, the many hours that passed and so much fun for all.
As the years passed and the kids grew, the fort didn't seem as high. The swings didn't draw as many friends as they did before and the slides weren't nearly as fast. The rope swing eventually weathered and became too weak to carry our much bigger children or their friends. The perfect swingset still sits in the same spot where I built in in 1999. It doesn't get quite as much attention as it did in the early days. The kids have found different ways to fill their time now that Blake is 16 and Kennedy is 12. On ocassion, I will look out the back window and see a group of much older playmates hanging out in the place they all have grown up, on our swingset. My mind instantly goes back to 1999 when that swingset was the biggest and the best place in "THEIR" whole wide world, the perfect place to play.
